The Story Behind the Success of Livorsi Marine, Inc.

In the crowded arena of precision instruments, few can claim the phenomenal success achieved by Livorsi Marine, Inc. It all began in 1987 in a 10' x 10' abandoned gas station in Chicago's north side, a far cry from it's present 21,000 sq. ft. modern facility in Grayslake, Illinois.

According to owner Mike Livorsi, the reason behind the company's stellar growth is two-fold. 

"Our past and future success hinges on two key principles; the highest standard of quality in the industry and, outstanding customer service."

It’s because of a strong belief and loyalty to this philosophy that Livorsi’s products have become the standard within the international powerboat community.  Now, after 18 years, Livorsi is still standard equipment in Bajas, Cigarettes, Donzis, Fountains, Formulas, Hustlers, Nor-Techs, Outerlimits, Skaters  and many others.

Belief in LMI is well deserved.  R &D never ends as technological advances are always being evaluated for possible applications in the marine industry. Each product endures rigorous testing under the most strenuous conditions imaginable.   Salt water is the most harsh, most damaging environment there is so, Livorsi insists on doing substantial testing off the Florida coast.

Grayslake, Illinois

Being based near Chicago offers another tough environmental testing ground -Lake Michigan - a place where a gauge’s construction and durability meet their competition in the form of fog, rain, cold and 4 to 5 footers. In addition to several boats, other test vehicles have included a hovercraft and snowmobiles to test performance in extreme cold and icy conditions. Back in the warehouse, employees are constantly testing and retesting, improving and fine-tuning every product before it goes out the door.

Livorsi’s array of marine instruments, hardware and accessories have drawn kudos from pros far and wide.  Bobby Moore of Custom Rigging and world renowned offshore throttle man (in fact, he created the position) is another living testimony to the accuracy of Livorsi gauges.  When asked why he uses LMI's instruments for testing, he replied "When we are testing, it is imperative we know our exact speed.  Small changes can make a big difference.  We can rely on Livorsi, we need to know the truth."  This is one reason why Mercury Marine uses Livorsi gauges extensively in it's testing.
In keeping with it's commitment to technological advancement, Livorsi continues to release new products and gauges designed to assist boaters by giving them perfect accuracy and much needed dependability. As you may have heard, Livorsi was recently acquired by CompX, a multi-million dollar company. This will help Livorsi to continue to grow as a company and offer you, the customer, greater options and availability.

The hours are long, but the rewards are good as Livorsi continues to press toward another incredible year.
